What is Environmental Health?

Two Rivers Public Health Department aims to protect and promote public health by addressing environmental factors that can affect human health. These services may include things like air quality monitoring, and vector monitoring (e.g. mosquito trapping). Public health environmental health services are also provided by the state health department, Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, and may involve collaboration with other government agencies or community organizations. The ultimate goal of these services is to prevent or minimize human exposure to environmental hazards and reduce the risk of associated health problems.
